A 33-year-old man presented with progressively worsening low-back pain radiating to his lower extremities bilaterally, difficulty in urinating and defecating, and sexual dysfunction for the last 4 years. There was no history of trauma or any procedure on the spine. The neurological examination was significant with regard to reduced left straight-leg raising to 30 degrees and hypoesthesia in the left L5 dermatome. Ankle jerks were absent bilaterally. Muscle strength was within normal limits. The bulbocavernous and anal reflexes were absent. No soft tissue or bone lesions were observed during the physical examination.
